The wheels can lock in place but I never needed that function. Now the work is done and I have no more use for lift. Even batter than having another person because you don't have to sweat holding it in place waiting for someone get enough screws hold the drywall. The lift holds the drywall in place for walls or ceilings.
It was the best purchase I could ve made for installing drywall without needing someone else to help hold sheets in place. Its still in great shape. The top rotates 360 degrees and hinges up or down whether you re installing on a wall ceiling. I installed all of the drywall myself in a 2,500sf home without needing helper.
It also helps to get the panels perfectly positioned in place before they re screwed. I call it my drywall buddy. I originally bought this unit on to install drywall throughout my house renovation. If you re doing drywall installation this is a must have.
The manufacturer says it can support 150 lbs and extend up to 16 feet the top. They aren needed for 4x8 sheets but if using 12 long they will support the longer ends. The unit disassembly and assembly is simple only takes a few minutes. Highly recommended.
